A module from the Durham MA in Theology and Ministry
18-20 April & 2-3 July 2012 at St John’s College, Durham.
You are welcome to join this module without signing up to the full MA.
The module offers preachers high quality validated training and enables them to reflect critically on preaching and exercise the skill of preaching in competent, imaginative and engaging ways which are faithful to biblical scholarship and speak into the contemporary context.
Module teaching team:
- Revd Kate Bruce: Kate is the Director, Centre for Communication and Preaching for CODEC. She teaches preaching at Cranmer Hall and the Wesley Study Centre , and regularly contributes to preaching conferences and training events across the country.
- Dr Geoffrey Stevenson: Dr Geoffrey Stevenson received his PhD from Edinburgh in homiletics and the development of preachers. He was Director of the Centre for Christian Communication at St John’s College, Durham.
- Revd David Day: A former principal of St John’s College, David has published extensively on preaching. After retiring from St John’s College, he became part of the staff team at St Nicholas Church Durham.
- Dr Mark Bonnington: New testament expert and church leader.
